“Effective equipment management can make a major difference in ensuring equipment availability where and when they’re needed and allows the equipment to be used efficiently to maximize productivity.”
This was the main message that was given to the 112 participants who attended the webinar on “Equipment Fleet Management” that the Association of Carriers and Equipment Lessors (ACEL) held on October 21, 2021. Conducted via the Zoom online platform, the three-hour session featured Efraim Kenneth “Prime” Perez, a senior machine applications and site performance engineer at Monark Equipment Corporation, as the speaker.
An equipment management expert with many years of experience, Perez divided his very informative lecture into five parts: Equipment Management Overview, Equipment Maintenance, Maintenance Strategy, Maintenance and Repair Processes, and Equipment Management Tools and Systems. And throughout his talk, he emphasized how proper equipment management can prolong the life of a machine, adding that the longer the productive life of an equipment is, the lower the total cost of ownership for the business becomes. Through ACEL’s partnership with the Construction Manpower Development Foundation and the Department of Trade and Industry (CMDF-DTI), the webinar participants were able to earn continuing professional development (CPD) points. Mechanical engineer who attended were credited with two CPD points each, while civil engineers earned 1.5 points each.
