PASIG CITY, Philippines, September 25, 2025: The Association of Carriers and Equipment Lessors (ACEL), Inc., and the Philippine Constructors Association (PCA), Inc., along with First Phil Skills & Equipment Testing Corporation, hosted a manpower development seminar, focusing on safety in gondola operations.
In his opening remarks, ACEL Chairman to the Committee on PhilConstruct, Mr. Arlan P. Vergara, emphasized the purpose of this event—a free seminar for good standing ACEL members aimed at providing high-quality training for gondola operators.
ACEL’s resource speaker, Engr. Mark Fernan P. Cruz, Operations Manager of First Phil Skills & Equipment Testing Corporation, delivered his keynote speech outlining the seminar’s course content and providing an initial overview of the topics covered.
The one-day session included ten topics, starting with the program’s objectives, which highlighted the significance of understanding proper safety practices in gondola operations.
Additionally, this partnership seminar discussed related subtopics such as suspended scaffolding, fall protection systems, and hazard identification, risk assessment, and control, among others.
Moving on, ACEL and First Phil Skills & Equipment Testing Corporation President, Ms. Abigail S. Mancilla, was also present at the event to provide her closing remarks to the attendees. Pres. Mancilla expressed gratitude for the support from both members and non-members who attended this special seminar, which focused on enhancing knowledge of proper gondola installation practices.
Overall, this first partnership seminar by ACEL and PCA for this year was successful, as this one-day learning session got positive reviews from the 28 attendees for the topic, seminar facilitator, and takeaway learnings from the insightful session.
