MANDALUYONG, PHILIPPINES, August 06, 2025 – The Association of Carriers and Equipment Lessors (ACEL), Inc., held its third general membership meeting for the year at the One Shangri-La Place, focusing on the understanding of different generations in the workplace.
The ACEL 3rd GMM began with President Abigail S. Mancilla’s Call to Order, while ACEL Chairman of the Committee on PhilConstruct, Mr. Arlan P. Vergara, who was also the event’s emcee, acknowledged the present members and started with the Sponsor’s Presentation, led by Olympic Engineering & Sales Corp., Trelleborg Marine and Infrastructure, and Top Spot Heavy Equipment Inc./Civic Merchandising, Inc.
The first two sponsors presented their AVP, while Top Spot Heavy Equipment Inc./Civic Merchandising, Inc. took the floor for an in-person product presentation. This 5-minute sponsor presentation was delivered by Ms. Aubrey Bartolata, a product manager at Top Spot Heavy Equipment Inc., showcasing their different products.
Moving on, ACEL Chairman of the Committee on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Mr. Juan Lorenzo Luis Banson, took the floor to introduce the guest speaker, Ms. Jennie Verano of Lighthouse Leadership Training & Consultancy.
Verano begins her plenary talk by inviting attendees to scan the QR code for her interactive presentation. The evening set the stage for insights and discussions about the differences in work ethics among various generations and how to understand everyone for a harmonious workplace.
As a business and organizational development consultant, she also shared tips and advice on the proper approach to work, including addressing problem situations that may arise in any company. By exploring the transformative potential of the generational workforce, she engaged in a Q&A session with attendees, offering small rewards for correct answers.
ACEL also initiated the development of its Trainer and Assessor Program for Heavy Equipment Operation with ACEL’s Chairman of the Committee on Manpower & Certification, Mr. Angelo Dio Agoncillo.
Agoncillo provides a brief overview of the association’s upcoming program and outlines all the qualifications for companies interested in enrolling their personnel. He also highlights the importance of this initiative and how ACEL leads the way in offering top-quality training for equipment operators in the country’s construction industry.
On Dio Agoncillo’s speech, he provide some details about the project that the association will initiate, which is for enrolling their personnel as “assessors”. He also provides a brief overview of the association’s upcoming program and outlines all the qualifications for companies interested in enrolling their personnel. He also highlights the importance of this initiative and how ACEL leads the way in offering top-quality training for equipment operators in the country’s construction industry.

Beyond the insightful talks and progressive news from the association, this GMM also paid tribute to one of ACEL’s former Board of Director members, Mr. Ver Raymundo, who passed away last April 24. The association played an AVP, which honors the legacy of the late former BOD member and past president of Rayman Builders.
The bereaved family, headed by the current president of Rayman Builders and Sir Ver’s son, Mr. Mickey Raymundo, accepts the token of appreciation for all the efforts and unwavering support of his father for the association. The awarding was headed by ACEL President Abigail S. Mancilla, ACEL Corporate Secretary Ms. Cristina T. De Vera, and ACEL Chairman of the Committee on PhilConstruct, Mr. Arlan P. Vergara.
Following the tribute for Sir Ver Raymundo, it was the president’s time segment. As ACEL President, Ms. Abigail S. Mancilla shared some news and updates about the upcoming activities the association will participate in.
It begins with the upcoming PhilConstruct Mindanao, which will be held during the first week of September at the SMX Convention Center Davao. This will be followed by the announcement of the ACEL 20th Badminton Tournament and ACEL 2025 President’s Cup, which will be held this September and October, respectively.
She also reiterated the latest news for all interested members of the association, which is the development of a trainer and assessor for heavy equipment operation as part of the key initiatives of the association.
And as every GMM’s customary, different prizes were given away for the raffle winners, such as hard hats, tool box kits, different high-quality power tools for the minor prize, and a party box on-the-go kit for the grand prize category.
In general, this GMM proved to be insightful and engaging, as the attendees gave it positive feedback from the venue, guest speaker, and raffle prizes, making it a successful one.
