“The DPWH NCR is very thankful for the long years of partnership with your organization that have been beneficial to the delivery of our projects and work to improve the National Capital Region.”
This was the message that Engr. Nomer Abel P. Canlas, the Department of Public Works and Highways’ regional director for the National Capital Region, gave to the 68 attendees who gathered for this year’s third quarter general membership meeting (GMM) of the Association of Carriers and Equipment Lessors (ACEL).
Held at the Magellan Room of the Discovery Suites in Pasig City last September 27, 2022, the meeting was the second physical – or face-to-face – GMM organized by the Association since the Mach 2020 COVID-19 lockdown.
Although Director Canlas was not able to personally attend the meeting, he sent his message which was read for him by Engr. John Leonard Cortes of the DPWH NCR’s Equipment Management Division. In his message, Director Canlas congratulated the Association for the latest edition of the ACEL Equipment Guidebook.“A very warm congratulations to your organization for your latest publication, the ACEL Equipment Handbook Edition 26,” he said. ”Truly, you should know that materials such as the one you are producing gives the sector enlightenment and guide in the rental and leasing of construction heavy equipment.”
The third quarter GMM was also highlighted by a product presentation from Digiscript Philippines Inc., a company that specializes in Reality Capture. Established in 2006, it offers a variety of Reality Capture solutions that, according to its presentation, “quickly provides professionals with an accurate and complete understanding of real-world environments, empowering them to confidently plan and execute projects that lead to better-built structures.”
Following an ACEL tradition, the meeting was capped by a raffle draw with a 40-inch TCL android television set as the grand prize. Minor prizes included a Mabe microwave oven, an Imarflex griller, a 3D stand fan, an Imarflex toaster, an Asahi electric kettle, and thermal jackets form First Balfour Inc. Royce potato chips and chocolate bars were also given to the participants who were the earliest to confirm their attendance to the meeting, the earliest to register, and to the winners of the games that were held during the GMM. The meeting was, of course, made possible by the contributions of ACEL’s 2022 sponsors.
