Eladio “Dio” L. Angeles will serve as the president of the Association of Carriers ang Equipment Lessors (ACEL) for 2021. The president and general manager of Olympic Engineering and Sales Corporation and ACEL’s first vice president for the 2020 term, he was elected to the presidency by the Association’s directors in a meeting held last November 27, 2020.
Also elected were Jonathan “Jojo” R. Perez as first vice president, Justo “John” F. Manalo Jr. as second vice president, Abigail “Abi” S. Mancilla as treasurer, Antonio “Tony” G. Coronel as auditor, Juan Lorenzo Luis “Enzo” DC Banson as corporate secretary, and Arlan P. Vergara as public relations officer.
Completing ACEL’s roster of 2021 officers are the following board directors: Jovito “Jovic” P. Basilio, Nicole Warren, Francis Frederick H. Cruz, and Ronald L. Yao. Segundino Y. Selma III, ACEL Cebu Chapter president, and Dino Mae D. Suelto, ACEL Davao Chapter president, will also sit as members or the 2021 board, together with Eduardo “Ed” P. Trinidad. the immediate past president of the Association who will serve as this year’s ex officio director.
“With the COVID-19 pandemic still raging, 2021 will be another challenging year for ACEL,” Angeles said. “But with the help of this board of directors made up of experienced and dedicated professionals and with the support of our members and friends, I am confident that we will be able to continue the outstanding work of our predecessors.”
After the election of officers, the 2021 board also designated the chairmen and co-chairmen of ACEL’s various committees. Named committee chairmen were: Francis Frederick H. Cruz for the Committee on Website and Newsletter, Arlan P. Vergara for the Committee on Philconstruct, Justo F. Manalo Jr. for the Committee on Membership, Nicole Warren for the Committee on Fellowship, Juan Lorenzo Luis DC Banson for the Committee on Corporate Social Responsibility and for the Committee on Safety and Disaster Relief, Sixto T. Benedicto for the Committee on Manpower Development and Certification, Jovito P. Basilio for the Committee on Research and Revision of By-Laws, and Jonathan R. Perez for the Committee on Government Relations and the Committee on Rental Rates.
Meanwhile, designated as co-chairmen were: Abigail S. Mancilla for the Committee on Manpower Development and Certification and for the Committee on Fellowship, Gabriel G. Manalo for the Committee on Rental Rates, Vivian Marie L. Angeles for the Committee on Fellowship, Matthieu Benedicto for the Committee on Research and Revision of By-Laws, Eduardo P. Trinidad for the Committee on Government Relations, Onofre T. Banson Jr. for the Committee on Membership, and Ronald L. Yao for the Committee on Membership.
