On 21 October 2023, The Association of Carriers and Equipment Lessors (ACEL), Inc., hosted another successful set of sportsfest which featured a badminton tournament where different ACEL Members and their respective partners joined and played.
Following an opening remark by ACEL’s Past President Lito M. Garcia, ACEL Ex-Officio Director and Event Head, J. Eladio L. Angeles commenced the tournament by mapping out the rules and regulations for the event under the supervision of a badminton committee.
The tournament starts in the elimination round from Class D to Class A as different ACEL Members and their respective partners compete for the spot in the finals that will take place later that day.
After a long round of elimination from the early stage up to the semis, the tournament pushed thru later that day for the final round where different winners from each category’s semi-final round had a face-off for the championship level to determine the Runner-Up and the Champion.

LEVEL A:
Champion: Jimcel Ray Sajonia and Kim Santos (IPM)
Runner-Up: Juanito Cruz, Jr. and Mario Bernal (Civi Merchandising)
LEVEL B:
Champion: Noel Rosales and J. Dio Angeles (Olympic)
Runner-Up: Jap Garcia and Mike Baile (Olympic)
LEVEL C:
Champion: Joan Vallo and Jemuel Navales (Civic)
Runner-Up: Roel Luz and Katrina Cubacub (Civic)
LEVEL D:
Champion: Manuel Sison and Yliar Vallo (Civic)
Runner-Up: Leo Pastor and Cesco Angga (First Balfour)
Spotted also on the event for the awarding ceremony is ACEL President, Engr. Jonathan R. Perez, ACEL’s Corporate Treasurer, Ms. Nicole Warren, and one of ACEL’s Director and Committee on Research & Revision of By-laws, Mr. Carlo Fruto.
Aside from the awarding ceremony for the champions, the tournament was made even more exciting and fun-filled as it also features different raffle items such as Towels, Bluetooth Speakers, Aqua Flasks, Gift Cheques, and a 40’’ SMART TV for the Grand Prize Winner.
