The Association of Carriers and Equipment Lessors (ACEL) joined in the celebration of this year’s “National Tech-Voc Day” that was spearheaded by the National Capital Region’s office of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) on August 25, 2018.
Republic Act No. 10970, which was signed into law last February, has declared the 25th day of August of every year as “National Tech-Voc Day,” a special working holiday that recognizes the importance of technical and vocational training in the country’s economic development.
As its participation in this event, ACEL put up a simulator display at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City. The display which allowed visitors to simulate the experience of safely operating heavy equipment proved to be one of the popular attractions of TESDA-NCR’s “World Café of Opportunities” exhibit.
This one-day exhibit, organized in partnership with various industry associations, government agencies and tech-voc schools, was specifically targeted at TESDA graduates and other professionals looking for jobs, entrepreneurship training, and skills upgrading opportunities.
