The Association of Carriers and Equipment Lessors (ACEL) celebrated its 52nd anniversary with a dinner reception held at the Columbus Room of the Discovery Suites in Ortigas Center last May 17, 2018.
The well-attended event also served as the association’s second general membership meeting (GMM) for the year. Atty. Ruth B. Castelo, undersecretary, Consumer Protection Group of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), was ACEL’s guest speaker for the affair. In her talk, USec Castelo presented DTI’s priorities and discussed the areas the association and its members can support.
Another highlight of the evening was the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between ACEL and the Construction Manpower Development Foundation (CMDF). A DTI-attached institution, CMDF is mandated to formulate an overall construction manpower development plan and strategies and develop and implement manpower training programs for the Philippine construction industry.
Under the terms of the MOA, ACEL will serve as CMDF’s training partner for candidates for supervisory and managerial positions in the construction industry who have already earned the necessary Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Philippine Contractor’ Accreditation Board (PCAB) points.
Faequip Corporation, a construction equipment supplier based in Makati, was also inducted as ACEL’s newest member during the event.
