MANILA, Philippines, July 31, 2024: The Association of Carriers and Equipment Lessors (ACEL), Inc. holds its third General Membership Meeting (GMM) for the year at the Marquis Events Place in BGC Taguig. Originally, this GMM was scheduled for a July 24 date and was postponed to July 31 due to Super Typhoon Carina and Habagat hitting Metro Manila; nevertheless, 105 guests attended and turned the event into a full house and roaring success.
Hosted by ACEL’s First Vice President, Mr. Francis Cruz, and ACEL’s Corporate Treasurer, Ms. Abigail S. Mancilla, the GMM commenced with the Call to Order, followed by the President’s Report from ACEL President, Engr. Jonathan R. Perez, who updated the attendees with the activities of the association for the past two months, and announced the different upcoming activities, such as TESDA’s Accreditation for the Competency Assessors for Heavy Equipment Operations, and PhilConstruct Mindanao in Davao City this September 5-7, 2024.
His President’s Report also includes the acknowledgment of present members and welcoming the new members: Northbay Construction Services and ZWM Phils., Inc., who will be inducted later that night.
The topic of this GMM explored the key areas of the Ease of Paying Taxes (EOPT) Act, highlighting the different areas and concerns that every company should know in this dynamic industry, such as the classification of taxpayers, value-added tax and other percentage tax, transitory provisions: invoicing, preservation of books of accounts, and other accounting related matters.
Another highlight from the third GMM is the induction of the new ACEL members – Northbay Construction Services and ZWM Phils., Inc., ACEL President, Engr. Jonathan R. Perez, and ACEL Corporate Treasurer, Ms. Abigail S. Mancilla, joined them and served as their board inductors. The new ACEL members received a warm welcome from the rest of the board via group photo op.
Following the induction of new ACEL members, some games such as “Name That Tune” and “ACEL Trivia” bring excitement to the crowd as the attendee who gets the correct answer will receive some amazing prizes such as premium baked cookies and different sweet treats.
And as every GMM’s customary, different prizes were given away to different raffle winners such as Multifunctional Fans, Body Massagers, Waffle Makers, Oven Toaster, Coffee Makers, Cookwares, Rice Cooker, and Samsung Tablet together with a 43’’ and 50’’ Smart TV for the major prize category.
