MANILA, PHILIPPINES, March 19, 2025—The Association of Carriers and Equipment Lessors (ACEL), Inc., gathered at the Discovery Suites Manila for its first General Membership Meeting (GMM) for the year, focusing on the economic forecast for the construction industry.
This year’s first General Membership Meeting (GMM) brought together different representatives from the association. It showcased a unified clamor from the members to know the economic forecast for the construction industry, and everyone was interested in this vital information.
The GMM began with a call to order from the association’s incumbent president, Ms. Abigail S. Mancilla, where she welcomed the attendees and set the stage for the informative talk that would commence later that night.

Vice President for REID Foundation and ACEL’s Resource Speaker, Mr. Ronilo M. Balbieran, opened his plenary talk with a case discussion concerning the IMF’s issue about the risk of hard landing and its related concerns to the topic.
Mr. Balbieran also emphasized the importance of the Philippine workforce in the country’s GDP and how the pandemic has changed everything for the construction industry, including its size and growth. He also compares different economic situations from our neighboring countries and how they provide solutions to the potential challenges they will face in the coming years.
Later that night, Pres. Abigail S. Mancilla graced the stage for her first-ever President’s Time.
Pres. Mancilla emphasized the importance of GMM for the association’s upcoming projects and development. She began her report with the various meetings that the association attended over the first quarter of the month, which included the meeting with the government partners regarding the release of the upcoming ACEL Equipment Guidebook.
She also stressed the importance of the ACEL Young Leaders League, urging every member to involve their next generations to participate in this group, as it will help the association continue its legacy—to be a pillar and catalyst of growth of the equipment industry and the economy as a whole.
Lastly, she also invites everyone to join the upcoming ACEL TechnoForum Seminars at the PhilConstruct Luzon, which will be held on April 4-5, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center, Clark, Pampanga.

And as every GMM’s customary, different prizes were given away to different raffle winners, such as special gifts from one of ACEL’s Gold Sponsors, CLEAMCO Industrial Corp., Blenders, Handheld Fans, Mini-Vacuum Cleaners, Stand Fans, and a 55’’ SMART TV as the GMM’s major prize.
In general, this GMM proved to be insightful and engaging, as the attendees gave it positive feedback from the venue, topic, and raffle prizes, making it a successful one.
