The Association of Carriers & Equipment Lessors (ACEL) held their first General Membership Meeting (GMM) for the year on March 28, 2023. The event was held at the Gloria Maris Restaurant in Greenhills and started at 6pm.
As usual, lots of raffle prizes were given away to lucky members who attended the event. But more importantly, 2023 ACEL President Jojo Perez took the opportunity to update the membership about what happened in the past year and the plans for the rest of 2023.
To assist in the President’s update, Vice President Arlan provided an in-depth presentation, giving members a more comprehensive understanding of the current state of ACEL. The presentation highlighted the association’s achievements, challenges, and goals for the future. Members were encouraged to provide feedback and suggestions to help shape ACEL’s direction in the coming years.
The event was hosted by Abi Mancilla, who ensured that the program ran smoothly and that attendees were comfortable throughout the evening.
One of the highlights of the evening was the great learning discussion on “Family Enterprise vs. Enterprising Family” conducted by Prof. Andy Ferreria. The discussion provided great insights on how to manage a family enterprise, how to motivate entrepreneurship within a family, and how to manage the different silos and roles that normally conflict between business, ownership, and family within a family business.
The discussion was very informative and engaging, and the attendees left the event with a lot of new ideas and perspectives on how to manage their family enterprises. The event was a great success, with a high number of attendees and positive feedback from those who attended.

Overall, the first GMM of ACEL for 2023 was a great success, attended by 102 members and provided valuable insights and discussions for its members. The association looks forward to holding more events like this in the future to continue its mission of promoting excellence and professionalism in the industry.
