As a token of support to the PHILCONSTRUCT exhibition show of its mother organization, the Philippine Constructors Association, Inc. (PCA), the Association of Carriers and Equipment Lessors (ACEL) mapped out the first heavy equipment show in the country on November 9 to 11, 1995 at the ADB Compound in Ortigas Complex.
Held in celebration of the PCA’s 50th year of existence, the first and biggest heavy equipment show showcased the equipment fleet and capability of ACEL members, the latest models and brands of heavy equipment and support tools and spare parts in the market. Moreover, the event highlighted an auction of brand new and used equipment and other special events on the side, such as the Skills Olympics and the “Kaya Natin” House Building Competition. ACEL also trail-blazed the conduct of product demonstrations and training programs in the three-day show, which have become a regular staple of the PHILCONSTRUCT event since then.
The pioneering show attracted a broad range of spectators as it kicked off with an acrobatics show participated in by ACEL members JCB, Asia Industries, Uptown, Livan Trade, EEI Corp. Monarch and Maxima. In consonance with the said acrobatics, several trained operators exhibited highly elaborate moves with their prime heavy equipment and demonstrated their expertise in the operation of excavators, graders, bulldozers and backhoe loaders.
