PRESIDENT' S MESSAGE

The past months have been very busy months for
ACEL. Various activities have been
held simultaneously and these would include the conduct of trainings/seminars,
sports activities as well as the very successful staging of the 2nd
Philconstruct Mindanao Technoforum in Davao and Philconstruct Visayas
Technoforum in Cebu.
The Committee on Manpower Development &
Certification, the following seminars were conducted for the period:
-
3 batches – Mobile Crane Operations – 34 participants
-
7 batches – Forklift Operation & Basic Maintenance – 105 participants
-
Free Training on Basic Hydraulics System – 25 participants
Nationwide trade testing and certification of
heavy equipment operators, mechanics and riggers were conducted as follows:
Luzon - 2,359 operators/mechanics/riggers
Visayas - 58
operators/mechanics/riggers
Mindanao - 26
operators/mechanics/riggers
TESDA has requested ACEL to develop and update the
training regulations currently being used for the construction industry more
specifically for the heavy Equipment
sector.
For the recently conducted
Philconstruct Visayas & Mindanao Technoforum in Cebu & Davao, ACEL was in the
forefront of activities in the staging of the TECHNOFORUM. The seminars conducted were on the

112 Participants attended. As a show of support 100% attendance
of ACEL Officers & Directors, Committees Chairmen and Past Presidents. ACEL provided full support for the
successful staging of the Technoforum by providing the speakers, seminar
materials, sponsorship of airfare of technical personnel.
For the Committee on Membership two
(2) new members will be inducted, namely:
1)
INFRAMACHINERIES CORP. is engaged in
the importation, sales and servicing of construction equipment. Exclusive distribution of Doosan
Infracore Construction Equipment for the Philippines. The company is located at 24 Mindanao
Avenue Extention, Tandang Sora, Quezon City. Mr. Eduardo Trinidad, President,
will represent the company. 2.)
ECOMAC EQUIPMENT & DEVELOPMENT CORP.
is engaged in the importation of Japan Surplus, sales and rental of heavy
equipment. Their office is located at the 1029 EDSA, Quezon City. The company is represented by Mr.
Edgar G. Coronel, President.
Your Committee on Fellowship will
hold a tripartite golf tournament with the PCA Golf Club and Ultraflite Golf Club held last September 24, 2011 at Royal
Northwoods Golf & Country Club, Coral na Bato, San Rafael, Bulacan. Overall Team Winners is the ACEL-PCA

as Class A, B and C.
Committee on Safety & Disaster in
cooperation with PEME Consultancy, Inc. has conducted the Construction Safety
and Health Course for Site Safety Officers held last September 21 to 25, 2011 at
the ACEL training room. From these
batches of trainees, a seminar on Loss Control Management will be conducted to
enable them to be accredited as Safety Practitioner. Tentative schedule will be on October
26 to 30, 2011.

will be reprinted in 200 copies.
Committee on Philconstruct Manila
The Committee decided to support
PHILCONSTRUCT
2011 Manila to be held on November 9-12, 2011 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia,
Macapagal Avenue, Pasay City.
