PRESIDENT' S MESSAGE

Much has already been accomplished and for the 2010 ACEL Board there is still a lot of ground to cover. 

Foremost in the agenda is the continuation of work done by the Committee on Manpower.  As in previous years, a year long program of training in Heavy Equipment Operation will be conducted most specifically on:

  • Forklift Truck Operation and Basic Maintenance
  • Mobile Crane Operation and Basic Maintenance
  • Backhoe Operation and Basic Maintenance
  • Safety on Rigging Works
  • Wheel Loader Operation and Basic Maintenance
  • Bulldozer Operation and Basic Maintenance
  • Road Roller Operation and Basic Maintenance
  • On-Highway Dump Truck Operation (Articulated & Rigid)

Testing and Certification of Mechanics and Operators are on-going and for the period January to March 2010, ACEL has certified 503 operators, riggers & mechanics. 

 

Todate, ACEL has a total membership of 96 members,  62 Regular, 30 Associate Members, 2 Chapters and 2 Honorary members.  New regular members recently inducted are DELTA Earthmoving, Inc.  & DIVE Industries Phils., Inc. and two (2) Associate members, LEEMASTERS International Systems, Inc. & Concrete Masters, Inc.

 

The Committee on Rental Rates has been meeting with representatives from the DPWH to get the agency's endorsement to the ACEL Equipment Guidebook Edition 24 and the committee on Government Relations continue to do liaison work with related government agencies (DOLE, CIAP, BOE, MWSS, NIA) for industry related concerns. 

 

The Committee on Safety & Disaster Relief has been working closely with the NDCC as part of the Association's socio-civic activities.   Related to this, trainings on disaster preparedness and collapse structure search / rescue has been conducted.  Likewise, the Association will support environmental friendly programs and skills advancement programs for construction workers in   compliance to D.O. 13.

 

The forthcoming PHILCONSTRUCT is another  activity that ACEL is actively supporting.  This early, the committee is working on the TECHNOFORUM activities relating to Equipment Leasing.  Training module on How to Get the Maximum Benefit from Your Equipment Fleet and Batching Plant Maintenance & Concrete Paver Maintenance & Safety are being finalized.

 

The Association will also continue to provide the membership with information regarding new technologies, industry news & related concerns through the publication of the ACEL newsletter and through the ACEL Website.
